At the 2018 hunt, Sinclair Oil Company took home the trophy for the Founder's Award, awarded to the team with the lowest average shot distance. This award rewards tenants of fair chase, and recognized Sinclair Oil team members' commitment to a patient stalk of their animals.

Sinclair Oil will be returning to compete for the Founder's Award at the Seventh Annual Wyoming Women's Antelope Hunt as a Bronze Sponsor. Sinclair, a leader in oil and gas since 1916, has supported the Wyoming Women's Antelope Hunt since 2015. Their sponsorship shows an understanding of hunting as a long-standing Wyoming tradition and the impact hunting can have on women as they strive to gain economic self-sufficiency.

Sinclair Oil employee Tanya Lewis understands firsthand the impact of the Wyoming Women's Antelope Hunt. Tanya Lewis has worked for Sinclair since 2012, and hunted on their team at the Wyoming Women's Antelope Hunt in 2017.

"There's something about the camaraderie of the hunt-of sitting next to the senator's wife and she's just as afraid to hunt as you are-there's something empowering in that," said Lewis of the hunt. Lewis describes her time at the Wyoming Women's Antelope Hunt as a transformational experience, and one that has transferred to her work at Sinclair Oil.

"Sinclair Oil is happy to be part of the Wyoming Women's Antelope Hunt," said Sue Sharp, Vice President Operational Excellence at Sinclair Oil. "We understand the importance of giving women the tools they need to succeed, and we can see how the Wyoming Women's Foundation uses the Wyoming Women's Antelope Hunt to achieve this."

With a focus on hunting, mentorship, and camaraderie, the 2019 hunt will bring together over 40 hunters. The Wyoming Women's Antelope Hunt will be held Oct. 10-13, 2019, at the Ranch at Ucross in northeast Wyoming. The event raises funds and awareness for the Wyoming Women's Foundation. Since inception, the hunt has raised more than $345,000 to help women and girls work toward economic self-sufficiency across Wyoming.

With over 40 registered hunters, only a few spots remain available for sponsorship or interested hunters. Please visit the Wyoming Women's Antelope Hunt webpage at www.wyomingwomensantelopehunt.org for more information on sponsorship and individual participation, including scholarships. Based on their level contribution, each sponsor has the opportunity to invite women to hunt at the event. The foundation is also seeking dinner sponsors and in-kind donations for its fundraising auctions on Oct. 12.
