CSU's Water Resources Archive

The Colorado State University’s Water Resources Archive is located in the Morgan Library. CSU’s Water Resources Archive Head Archivist Patty Rettig provides more information about this value water resource
Rettig: “We are focused on collecting the historical documentation relating to water — primarily in Colorado but also across the U.S. West. We’re established in 2001 so we are relatively young as far as a achieve but we have grown since then to hold nearly 100 distinct collections. Those collections are contained in somewhat in the neighbor of 2,000 boxes.”
Document types range from meeting minutes, reports, and correspondence to maps, photographs, and audio tapes. Rettig continues
Rettig: “We cover water law, engineering, irrigation recreational use of water. So the whole spectrum which makes things interesting and busy around here. We hold a tremendous amount of unique resources that researchers can’t find anywhere else. The majority of our materials do need to be accessed on site here in the library. We’ve been digitizing as much as we possibly can. But even as we’ve done that, I estimate that we have digitized and put on online, approximately 5 percent of our collection.”
