Ag in Motion Assists in Educating Students About Ag

Colorado Farm Bureau’s Ag in Motion mobile ag education display has traveled more than 7,000 miles around the state educating the public on ag topics. Are you an elementary teacher looking for a creative way to teach your students about agriculture? Or an community event planner in need of educational displays? Colorado Farm Bureau Associate Director of Education and Member Services Melissa Ralston shares how well the mobile ag displays fit in a classroom’s circulculm.
Ralston: “If there are teachers that aren’t so sure about bringing it in. They want to bring Ag in Motion in — but they don’t know if their administration would allow it because they don’t know if it would be aligned with Common Core and all the standards. All my lessons are aligned to Common Core, so if a teacher wants to bring the program in, I can always send the information in ahead of time so they can show their administration or whomever needs to see that yes we are aligned to Common Core and we fit in to with education and fit in exactly to what they need to fill for their year. And it doesn’t matter what grade level — K through 5.”
So if you are interested in learning more about this exciting and fun way for students to learn, Ralston says
Ralston: “The best way to to find out information is to go to coloradofarmbureau.com. Then under the programs tab, is a page for Ag in Motion. On that page you can find all the topics listed and a little description of the program and also my contact information.”
