Ram Country Meats Provides Valuable Student Training

The Colorado State University’s Meat Lab’s retail store is now known as Ram Country Meats and has had a website redesign in addition to their new brand. However, the high quality and tasty products that they have provided the public for more than 50 years will remain the same. CSU Ram Country Meats Sales Manager Joe Bullard shares some of their retail items
Bullard: “So we’ve got a wide variety of beef, pork and lamb products — steaks, chops roasts. Like the brat we won with over the summer — we have nice variety of sausages. Excellent bacon. We’re getting right into the holiday season — we were going to be selling holiday hams, and hopefully some holiday steak boxes. We’ve got some great products for tailgating, jerky. Nice high protein snacks for hunting. You name it, we’ve got it.”
You can shop online anytime at www.ramcountrymeats.colo.state.edu but pickup needs to happen in person. The store is open Thursday and Friday’s from noon to 6 p.m. Bullard continues with where the money from the store goes.
Bullard: “So that money goes right back into the processing center. Right back to the students to purchase more product, to teach more classes, to give them more hands-on experience in a small industry setting. We do try to mimic everything in the industry so when these kids go off and get careers.”
