Colorado Pork Producers Council Annual Meeting

It will soon be time for the annual meeting of the Colorado Pork Producers Council. This year’s meeting will be held at the Morgan County Fairgrounds from 10 a.m. to 2 pm. in Brush on Saturday, November 21st. Colorado Pork Producers Council Executive Director Joyce Kelly shares more details about the day’s schedule of events
Kelly: “We’re just asking all of our membership to let us know if they’d like to attend. We are going to feed them lunch. We’re going to have the state veterinarian there to talking about the emerging and existing animal health disease issues that are really affecting the pork industry this year. There are quite a few of them between PED and Seneca Valley Virus. Then we are also going to have John Hennings for the U.S. Meat Export Federation is going to talk about the state of meat exports and the markets for pork in the coming years. Then we are going to have election of officers as well as the business of the organization from the last year.”
Kelly began in her role in September and adds that she really wants to encourage Colorado pork producers — regardless of their size of operation — to attend this event.
Kelly: “So I’m looking forward to meeting everybody. I want to be able to touch base with people and find out what their needs are. We are really doing an effort to raise the presence of Colorado Pork in the state and something that people that belong to our organization or pay into the the pork checkoff find of value.”
