Colorado Foundation for Ag Looking for Applicants for Excellence in Teaching Award

The Colorado Foundation for Agriculture is looking for educators that are using agriculture topics in academic curriculum. Executive Director of the Colorado Foundation for Ag Bette Blinde says that in partnership with the National Ag in the Classroom, Colorado is looking to recognize a Colorado educator. She shares more
Blinde: “We want to encourage teachers to use agriculture as a theme to teach other academic subjects so we are looking for teachers or teams of teachers who are doing that within their school and with their students. The one that is selected to be our Colorado representative they will receive $500 and then also their name is submitted to the national and if they win at the national level there is another $2,000 there and they get to go to the National Ag in the Classroom conference.”
Eligible teachers must be currently engaged in classroom instruction at the pre-Kindergarten through 12th grade levels. Deadline to apply is January 3, 2016. You can find the application at www.growingyourfuture.com Blinde explains one requirement of their winning teacher.
Blinde: “We do ask the winning teacher to presenting at our fundraising dinner on February 13th in Loveland — they will be the featured speaker at that dinner.”
