SnowTel and US Drought Monitor Reports

Here with last Thursday's SnowTel Snow Precipitation and Drought Monitor Reports is Market Reporter Lindsay Burnet from the Greeley USDA office.

Brunet: "The USDA NRCS National Water and Climate Center's Colorado SnowTel snow precipitation Report for Thursday, March 30th has the Gunnison River Basin snow water equivalent at 125; the Upper Colorado River Basin at 110; the South Platte River Basin at 104; the Laramie and North Platte River Basins at 104; the Yampa and White River basins at 94; the Arkansas River Basin at 111; the Upper Rio Grande Basin at 113; and the San Miguel, Delores, Animas, and San Juan River Basins at 130 as a percent of the median of all SnowTel sites in each basin compared to previous years. According to the U.S. Drought Monitor, moderate to heavy rain and wet snow led to reductions in abnormal dryness as well as moderate to severe drought from Central Colorado northeastward into central Nebraska."

This Wednesday evening begins the Colorado Livestock Association's Finest Celebration dinner. Then on the 6th the meeting will begin at 7 a.m. and is packed full with very informative presentations and speakers. This event is being held at the Embassy Suites in Loveland. Am looking forward to being there on Thursday to visit with livestock producers from around the state.
