Colorado Corn Contributes $20,000 To All-American Beef Battalion

The Colorado Corn Administrative Committee this month teamed up once again with the All-American Beef Battalion – a volunteer organization that travels the U.S. serving steaks to our men and women in uniform, and their families.

CCAC President Mike Lefever joined the group at the 117th Space Battalion in Colorado Springs, where they fed 230 people earlier this month, and while on hand, Lefever also presented a $20,000 check from CCAC to the Beef Battalion. Lefever shares more about this amazing and worthwhile program.

Lefever: "Everything is all volunteer including the group that started this whole thing. One hundred percent of all donations go to buying food. These guys travel on their own dime. We've got a lady that does all the bookkeeping for this and does it for free. There is not a bit of administrative cost in this."

With this contribution, the CCAC has all together now contributed $125,000 to the Beef Battalion, and Colorado Corn staff and board members have also helped serve about 50,000 steak dinners here in the state.

Lefever knows first hand the impact these dinners have for our troops and their families.

Lefever: "It is something that I did once in 2009. I thought it is a long way to go but I will give it a shot. I haven't missed one since. Since then, we've feed over 50,000 troops and over 500,000 across the United States."
