The Colorado Farm Bureau has recognized its new Emerging Young Farmer and Rancher and she happens to be one of its own.

The Bureau's Kacie Burns tells Colorado Ag Today this year's winner is Audrey Rock.

"Audrey is the Young Farmers and Ranchers past chairwoman."

The award is designed to honor one of the state's young producers each year. Winners are active in the bureau, their county and their community.

Burns says Rock was nominated by a past board member because they were so impressed with her leadership skills and dedication.

Burns says Audrey is the epitome of the volunteer spirit the Farm Bureau needs in order to successfully represent Colorado's farms and ranches at the local, state and federal level. And to give them marketing opportunities and protect the rural lifestyle.

Audrey lives with her husband near Wray. Together they are raising a small buffalo herd and three boys.
