Each month, the Colorado Department of Agriculture features a different product to highlight the variety and quality of products grown, raised or processed in the state.

Wendi White with the Ag Department tells us this month, Pork is featured for your family's holiday celebration.

"Whether you have a pork loin or chops or a traditional ham that's really popular. But our recipe this month is a spicy pork ragu."

Hogs and pork are among the top ten agricultural products in the state. Most production is found on the eastern plains of Colorado.

Nutritionally pork is high in nutrients such as thiamine niacin, riboflavin, vitamin B-6, phosphorus and protein. And it's also a "good" source of zinc and potassium.
