The National Western Stock Show , always a huge attraction, is on track to set a record for attendance in 2018.

Stock Show President and CEO Paul Andrews tells Colorado Ag Today, says more than 50-thousand people came through the gates the first weekend and there is good reason to expect trends to continue.

Andrews says the Stock Show may see upwards of 700 thousand people over the 16 day Denver event....good news for the local and state, generating some a hundred million dollars with more than 60% from non-local sources and over $6 million in local and state tax revenues.

"We are a show that generates 100 million dollars in our 16 days of Stock Show. We are the Super Bowl of Stock Shows."

The Stock Show this year, includes a Dairy Discovery Zone for kids, a miniature Zebu cattle show, and "Vet Camp 101" for students interested in becoming veterinarians.

The National Western Stock Show continues through January 21st.
