Fruit and Vegetable Growers Pick Tech Winners

A robotic harvester and a remote controlled wagon are two winners in the First Colorado Fruit and Vegetable Growers Association Tech Pitch Contest.

The contest was held at the CFVGW's annual meeting where spokeswoman Marilyn Bay Drake says the judges were won over by the by the innovation by Tortuga Ag Tech.

The people's favorite was a labor saving robotic cart by Augean Robotics of Pennsylvania which can be programmed to follow a person as he or she picks fruit vegetables from the plants.

Both winners were awarded services from Western Growers Innovation Center and legal services from Faegre Baker Daniels to help get their innovations to the marketplace.
