There’s a good chance we could be paying a bit more for foods we buy at the grocery store the rest of the year...not so for producer incomes according to the USDA.

Annemarie Kuhns, USDA economist, with a list of food items that are expected to cost more than last year.

Beef and Veal, poultry, fish and seafood, eggs, fresh fruits, sugars and sweets.

She says there’s still several food categories of food that could cost less this year. Those include: pork, fats and oils like butter, fresh veggies, processed foods and vegetables and non-alcoholic beverages. We could also see a slight decrease in the retail price of milk and dairy products.

Price retail data is only complete for the first half of the year so things could change.
