The Colorado Department of Agriculture is featuring locally grown cabbage in it's monthly Colorado Proud recipe.

"Colorado has more than 15 hundred acres of cabbage that we harvest every year. The last numbers I looked at we had about 65 million pounds of cabbage that Colorado Produces so this is a great recipe for this time of year and it's a braised cabbage recipe and a nice addition to go with Octoberfest with bratwurst or sausage and features both red and green cabbage in the recipe. It's a real hearty fall dish."

Wendy White with the Colorado Department of Agriculture.

She says you can get the recipe for Braised Colorado Cabbage recipe at www.coloradoproud.org. We've also linked the page here at Colorado Ag Today.

And for planning purposes wine lovers may want to mark November 8th for Colorado Uncorked. It's a festival that will feature all the winning wines from the Governor's Cup which just had its judging a few weeks ago.
