Guidestone Colorado, the non profit farming advocacy group, says there are gaps in the educations levels for folks who are just getting into farming and ranching in Colorado and for those who are trying to expand into new markets.

Dan Waldvogle Director of Guidestone’s Colorado Landlink says they’re holding a series of workshops to bring new information to those who find themselves wondering what to do next.

“For aspiring farmers and ranchers to be able to understand the basic landscape of what a life in agriculture looks like. And then there was another gap where we found there wasn’t a lot of assistance helping folks get from a direct market where they’d started farming or ranching and maybe they were selling to the farmer’s market or friends and neighbors or the community but there wasn’t a lot of assistance to help them get to that next scale of economy.”

The next workshops are set for January 31st and February 1st in Bayfield and February 28th and, March 1st in Boone.

www.Guidestonecolorado.org is the place to go for details.

The workshops are free with an optional donation to help Guidestone preserve ag resources and next gen farmers.
