According to the U.S. Drought Monitor's High Plains summary farther west, wet-season precipitation continued to outpace normal in most of central

and western Colorado and adjacent southern Wyoming. Widespread above-normal

mountain snowpack covers most areas. Conditions have now improved enough to

finally remove the lingering D4 exceptional drought area in south-central Colorado and improve the northern fringes of the D3 extreme and D2 severe areas in western Colorado.
