Colorado Proud, part of the Department of Agriculture that promotes the state's agriculture and food products is celebrating its 20th anniversary. Celebrations include the unveiling of a refreshed, redesigned logo.

We are going from our purple mountain and gold sun logo that many people might be familiar with to a new circle logo that's got the Colorado flag colors of blue and gold and red and still has a mountain motif and sun, but definitely more modern.

Wendy Lee White, marketing specialist at the Department says the redesign took many months working with hundreds of member partners who gave some important feedback .

The old logo had become problematic for some members because it was difficult to incorporate into their packaging.

White says the Colorado Proud program was started with a goal to build relationships between farmers, ranchers, food producers, retailers and consumers. She says they wanted to give producers and businesses the right tools for sustaining those relationships while educating consumers about the evolving, local food movement.

White says the new logo should be incorporated into most vendors' and partners' packaging and websites in the coming months.
