USPB Introduces New Marketing Staff Person

The United States Potato Board would like to introduce Amy Burdett, USPB Marketing Operations Director who began her new role in late July. She came to the USPB after a 16-year career with the USDA’s Foreign Agricultural Services. Market Services. Burdett shares more of what her role will entail.
Burdett: “So my responsibilities are to manage the USDA funding programs for promoting potatoes in the international markets, increasing market access for U.S. potato products into foreign markets. So where we are having an issue with one of our products getting in, I will work with the U.S. government and with U.S. industry and the foreign government to ensure the barriers are reduced. And managing the U.S. seed potato program.”
She shares what has impressed her the most since beginning with the USPB.
Burdett: “I think the excitement — not just has a product— but the feeling of a close knit family here. The board members have exciting role and the team here at the headquarters at the USPB in Denver are all very engaged with how things are. We have Mr. Potato Head and Mrs Potato Head around so there is both a seriousness and a fun aspect to it.”
