Microbes Benefit Soil Health

Yesterday’s story concentrated on how beneficial microbes can be a natural food thickener for creamier yogurt and sour creme. Today we are discussing microbes benefit to soil health with Bio S.I. Technology CEO Wayne Tucker who explains his company’s products help improve a farmer’s soil — regardless of the method of farming used.
Tucker: “Microbes work, from our products, work both in the conventionally and organic programs. Education is that and we try to show them where the products make what they are doing more efficient. It is an added value — unlike fertilizers or chemistries once you use them they are utilized and spent. When you use microbial products from Bio S.I. you are actually adding soil life. So every time you put them out, they are an additive benefit to your soil and they continue to build in population.”
So what makes microbial products unique is that they add and build the soil, Tucker continues by explaining how their products work together to benefit the soil — the first Ag formula Select rebuilds the soil structure, the second product Select treats the seeds to protect seeds from fungus. He continues with the benefits of using the third product.
Tucker: “After the harvest, you have a lot of plant debris that use to be hauled off or burned or what have you. Using the SD 25 we can convert that to not only for fertilizer for the next crop but we also build humus in the soil which holds water. And with water being as critical as it is today we need to think more and more about what we can do to turn that plant debris into humus to hold onto the water we get every day.”
