With today's Fruit Grower Report, I'm Bob Larson. Northwest wine industry folks are converging on the Rose City for the 2017 Oregon Wine Symposium.

The two-day event starts tomorrow and the Oregon Wine Board's Michelle Kaufmann says they expect to top last year's attendance of over 17-hundred ...

MICHELLE KAUFMANN ... "We'll be over at the Oregon Convention Center. This is the sixth year we have held this event in Portland and each year it just continues to grow and grow. It is by far the premier educational and networking event for the Northwest Wine Community featuring four different session tracks from wine business, to viticulture and enology and a huge trade show for networking and meeting with vendors with products and services designed to advance viticulture and enology businesses."

Kaufmann says it may be the "Oregon" Wine Symposium, but it's intended for wine industry folks from all over the northwest ...

MICHELLE KAUFMANN ... "We share three regions in partnership with Washington state; the Columbia Gorge, the Columbia Valley, and the Walla Walla Valley. And we spent a lot of time talking with our growers out in Eastern Oregon or Southern Oregon just asking them, what sort of content can we provide you that's more relevant to your business than maybe in other portions like the Willamette Valley and just trying to deliver content that's relevant to every vineyard."

Kaufmann says you can still register for Oregon Wine Symposium tickets online at symposium.oregonwine.org ... or purchase them at the door.
