10/21/05 AGR-Lite video conference

Farm and Ranch October 21, 2005 Agricultural producers and agri-business professionals are invited to take advantage of a panel discussion on a federally subsidized insurance plan called Adjusted Gross Revenue Lite or AGR-Lite. The Internet video conference is scheduled for November 4th from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Pacific Time. Thanks to a grant received by the Washington State Potato Commission and partners from the USDA Risk Management Agency, one location the streaming video conference will be downloaded and can be viewed for free is at Big Bend Community College's ATEC Conference Center in Moses Lake. As Chris Voigt, Potato Commission Executive Director points out, not all growers have computers or connections that allow them to download streaming video so it's fortunate to have the support of that grant and the technology available at Big Bend Community College. AGR-Lite is an insurance product that covers virtually all agricultural income reported on Schedule F, or the equivalent, of the IRS tax form reflecting commercial agricultural production. John Nelson of the Western Center for Risk Management Education says the conference presentation will include an accountant, an economist, a banker an ag director and insurance professionals, plus clips from producers who have used AGR-Lite or want to. Nelson: "And we will take clips of that and bring it into the discussion with the panelists to try and make their comments relevant to the actual use that is going on out in the countryside." The presentation will be archived and available for viewing on demand on the Western Center for Risk Management Education's website.. That's the Northwest Farm and Ranch Report. Brought to you in part by the Washington State Potato Commission. Nutrition today! Good health tomorrow! I'm Bob Hoff on the Northwest Ag Information Network.
