Have You Considered a Management Advisor Team

Regardless of what your business is, a team of knowledgable and experienced advisors can be a boon to your operation. Bird Dog Co -Founder and CEO Dave Myers explains more about the why of the idea

Myers: "I think even on a personal level, those you surround yourself with really have a big influence on who you are and who you become. So on more of a business level, as I talk to farmers — and even more so with landowners — surrounding themselves with people who can bring them leadership and invest in them and really help them work through challenges they run into is very important."

Myers continues with the type of advisors that a landowner should consider having on their advisor team.

Myers: "One is a good attorney. Someone that they can consult with lease questions and how best to put that together. A good CPA someone they can run financial information across and who can help best management their finances or that land investment the best they can. Another one would be a loan officer. Someone who really understands interest rates, 1031 exchanges, things like that. Then the fourth would be a good real estate agent. Somebody who does this for a living and understands buying and purchasing whether that is farmland or pasture land or even commercial land."
