09/19/06 RMA announces wheat revenue prices

Farm and Ranch September 19, 2006 Northwest wheat growers awaiting wheat price information for federal crop insurance and its revenue policies need wait no longer. Jo Lynne Seufer of USDA's regional Risk Management Office says they have announced those prices for Idaho, Oregon and Washington. Seufer: "And we announced the 2007 Crop Revenue Coverage, CRC, Base Price at $4.87 for all wheat. Income Protection Projected Price at $4.87 as well. And the Revenue Assurance, which is available only in Idaho, their Projected Price is $4.35 for winter wheat." RMA also announced the additional price election for 2007 wheat of $3.90 a bushel. That price represents the maximum price elections for the crop year, not applicable to revenue plans, for the Actual Production History yield-based wheat insurance plan. All these prices are critical for producers who are evaluating which wheat crop insurance product or plan will provide the best risk management tool for their operation. And Seufer reminds wheat growers that the sales closing date for winter and spring wheat is approaching. Seufer: "Because September 30th falls on a Saturday they have now at least until Monday, October 2nd. But you are right. It is just right around the corner." Producers should contact their local Multi-Peril Crop Insurance agent for complete insurance details.
