New USApple Website

New USApple Website

New USApple Website. I'm Greg Martin with today's Fruit Grower Report.

The days of just looking at websites on a desktop computer are long gone. Many people now only use a mobile device to access the web and for businesses that means websites must be easily readable. Wendy Brannen with USApple says they just released their new consumer site.

BRANNEN: It was time because the site we had was not a responsive site. That is what I would say would be one of the biggest improvements to the site is just mobile flexibility and people being able to look at it whether they're on their desktop, their iPhones, whatever type of device.

She says one of the key issues for consumers on a website is easy access.

BRANNEN: If it's recipe's or help information or apple industry - just interesting facts, they just need to find it quickly because information just has to be at our fingertips and fast and easy to digest. The old site was very cumbersome.

The new site is very visual and has a new menu system.

BRANNEN: One of the greatest advantages of being in our industry is we have this beautiful crop. Whether it's the blossoms in the spring or the trees that are heavy and pregnant with the apples in the fall or it's apples on a plate or in a bowl or kitchen counter, they're just so beautiful and enticing. It certainly makes our product more enticing to consumers.

The new website is up at usapple.org.
