With today's Fruit Grower Report, I'm Bob Larson. Wildfire season is well underway and if the past few years are any indication, it pays to be prepared and protected.

Mutual of Enumclaw farm territory manager, Marcus Williams says that's where the right insurance policy comes in ...

MARCUS WILLIAMS ... "As an insurer in this community, our primary focus is to help the farming community avoid these devastating losses altogether. However, no matter how much effort we put into prevention, Mother Nature will always have the last say and we need to be prepared for that."

Williams encourages everyone to review their current policy ...

MARCUS WILLIAMS ... "Are your limits and coverage adequate? If you're not sure, I would encourage you to reach out to your independent agent. Ask questions needed to prepare yourself and enter this wildfire season with the peace of mind, knowing that when the worst happens, the best will be there to get you back on your feet."

Williams says it would also help to get out and walk your property and take inventory...

MARCUS WILLIAMS ... "And review your assets and then review your policy and see if those assets you have are all listed on the policy and for the right cover causes of loss. And in this case, we're looking in fire and so it is a basic cause of loss and so if your item is scheduled, I'm sure you have it, but the one thing we want to avoid are any unnecessary surprises. Once we come out there and want to repair your home and get you back up on your feet, we want it all running smoothly and the best way we can do that is if we are insuring the policy properly."

Williams says if you're put in that unfortunate position, being prepared will allow you to better deal with the ensuing chaos that is a wildfire.
