Apple Commissions New Communicator Pt 1

With today's Fruit Grower Report, I'm Bob Larson. She was born to it. That might be the best way to describe the Washington Apple Commission's newest team member, Toni Lynn Adams ...

ADAMS ... "I grew up in Prosser and then the family orchard is in Cowiche."

From there, Adams took her Yakima Valley apple pedigree to WSU to hone her communications skills, eventually landing at the Apple Commission as its new Communications Outreach Coordinator ...

ADAMS ... "Yeah, so I'm going to be communicating trade information to apple growers and developing website improvements, working on corresponding with our market country representatives that we have in each country and then also just really focusing on publicizing the Washington Apple Commission's mission and any sort of outreach we do."

Adams understands how important it is to keep the information flowing ...

ADAMS ... "I think keeping our growers informed on all aspects across trade is incredibly important so they know what's on the forecast for them and for their industry and for their crops. I mean, they're going to want to know where their crop is going and what the effects are of that and how they can plan moving forward. So, it's so important to be informed as much as you can."

Adams says she'll be kind of a go-between ...

ADAMS ... "Between the growers and the Commission, and the Commission to our market representatives, you know, helping the outreach in there and being a middleman."

Listen tomorrow for more on the Apple Commission's newest Communicator and how she'll take on the changing world of trade.
