With today's Fruit Grower Report, I'm Bob Larson. Toni Lynn Adams can't wait to begin telling the stories of the Washington industry after being hired as the new Communications Outreach Coordinator at the Washington Apple Commission.

With more trade turmoil announced every day, the WSU grad knows she'll be challenged shining a light on all the good things from the industry ...

ADAMS ... "Education is absolutely key in the aspect of how can we inform people of the best practices being used and the aspect of the hard work farmers put in to make sure they are producing the highest quality crops and the best practices possible and how they're always evolving to try and learn what is the next best practice where I can produce high quality and enough yield where I'm also being a successful farmer or grower."

But, Adams says that's what we do ...

ADAMS ... "And that's kind of the mission of the Washington Apple Commission is to promote Washington apples internationally and that's our role. And so, we are very excited to do that on a daily basis is how we can help growers and shippers be successful."

Growing up in a family of Yakima Valley apple growers, Adams hopes to help the Washington apple industry in any way she can ...

ADAMS ... "I'm very excited to be of service to those growers. How can I be of service to them explaining their needs and their wants and also the new varieties coming out and anything that I can do on their behalf. That's something I am very excited about as well."
