03/16/06 Oregon Wine Symposium

Oregon Wine Industry celebrates. I'm Greg Martin with today's Northwest Fruit Growers Report. Each year the Oregon Wine Industry holds their annual symposium and this year nearly 500 people attended the event in Eugene, Oregon. This year's event featured cutting-edge content, a technical tasting, a guest chef dinner and industry awards ceremony. During the three day event, enology, viticulture and business are each given a day which allows winemakers, growers, and sales and marketing professionals to all benefit. Discussions ranged from climate changes to a sensory evaluation exercise. A Guest Chef Dinner featured a five-course menu, and following dinner, the Oregon Wine Board of Directors presented a number of awards to deserving industry members. The Oregon Wine Industry Symposium is the premier platform for industry research and education, delivering relevant content to wine and wine grape industry professionals. Sponsored by the Oregon Wine Board, the Symposium brings wine and wine grape leaders from around the world to discuss issues, discover key learnings and network with industry suppliers. Executive Director of the Oregon Wine Board Ted Farthing said their goal was to deliver valuable content and to create an atmosphere where industry members could network, share knowledge and come away with new perspectives on their vineyards and wineries. I'm Greg Martin and that's today's Fruit Grower Report on the Northwest Ag Information Network.
