Ryan and Shabree Moss and their four kids live and farm in the Raft River valley. It's a one-hour bus ride to school each day for the kids and the nearest neighbor is three miles down the road. SHABREE "When we first got married I said I would never marry a farmer and I wasn't going to live in Raft River and here we are." Ryan farms five thousand acres of potatoes in three counties over a 100-mile stretch of southern Idaho. The Moss' say their involvement with Farm Bureau's Young Farmer and Rancher Program has been a plus for them. SHABREE "I've enjoyed it. I've got to meet a lot of new people. I get to spend time with Ryan and I've learned a lot about the farming." RYAN "The benefits that we're received from being on the committee we are definitely involved more. We know what's going on more in the organization. Information is key in this business. You need to know what's happening and you need to know the people that are making it happen. It's a business now, its not just something that you do for fun, it's a big business now." Ryan and Shabree Moss, district three YFR committee members. Voice of Idaho Agriculture
