I called Jo Lynne Seufer, Risk Management Specialist in the Spokane office of the Risk Management Agency and learned something very interesting about The Federal Crop Insurance Corporation which made an announcement that approximately $4 million was available to fund the risk management education partnerships in Idaho, Washington, and Oregon. The Federal Crop Insurance Corporation (FCIC), operating through the Risk Management Agency (RMA), announces its intent to award:

Approximately $4 Million to fund the Risk Management Education (RME) Partnerships Program. The RME announcement is posted on Grants.gov at:  https://www.grants.gov/web/grants/search-grants.html   (Enter 10.460 in the CFDA Number line for RME).

Approximately $4.85 Million to fund the Targeted States (TS) Partnerships Program. The TS announcement is posted on Grants.gov at: https://www.grants.gov/web/grants/search-grants.html  (Enter 10.458 in the CFDA Number line for TS).  Note: For the RMA Spokane Region, the TS announcement is only applicable to Alaska. Both Request for Applications (RFA) include a 'Highlights and Changes for 2017' section. Applications for the Crop Insurance in Targeted States Program and Risk Management Education Partnerships Program are due by 5:00 p.m. ET on July 10, 2017. All applications must be submitted electronically through the Results Verification System website (http://rvs.umn.edu) and received by the deadline.
