Chad Frahm, senior vice president of the Innovation Center for U.S. Dairy often refers to a manual that his organization produced entitled “Considerations and resources on feed and animal management.” In that manual is a chapter on the cow of the future. I found that interesting and called up Chad just to discuss the Innovation Center for US dairy and some of its goals and concerns." Sustainability as it relates to the dairy community, we have been working on sustainability through the Innovation Center for U.S. Dairy for several years. The Innovation Center for U.S. Dairy was started in 2008 and it was started by America's dairy farmers. Through the dairy checkoff, through DMI we created the Innovation Center really to bring together the derrick walker lives, the farmer owned cooperatives along with the dairy processors and really come together to talk about issues and topics that we can all work on together. Sustainability was one of those major topics that we worked on for many years developing science, developing research to really understand, what is our impact but also what are our opportunities to tell a good story about sustainability throughout very. We have a very good story to tell. It's really a program where we try and bring the entire dairy community together.
