12/23/05 Last minute Christmas shopping

BRADSHAW "We are still a nation of procrastinators when it comes to holiday shopping." That's Amy Bradshaw of the Direct Marketing Association in New York. She says 20 percent of us vowed to have the shopping down by Thanksgiving, another 31 percent said they'd be finished by the 12th of December. Right. BRADSHAW "46 percent of the people wait until the last week so there are a lot of procrastinators out there including 23 percent of us who will finish the day before." Okay, a bag of spuds might not get it. Neither will a bushel of wheat, barley or beans. Some Idaho wine is a good present for some and there are plenty of last minute Idaho food gift baskets and ideas. SHIRROD "Our Darth Tater is the original Darth Tater." Boise based Western Image makes and sells tourist merchandise like key chains, magnets, hats, postcards and tee shirts. Company owner Mark Shirrod. SHIRROD "In 1994 during a management meeting here we were looking to come up with humorous potato related designs." And Darth Tater became a tee shirt and is the company's number one selling item. There's a last minute gift for you. Good luck shoppers and, Merry Christmas from all of us at the Northwest Ag Information Network and the Idaho Farm Bureau. Voice of Idaho Agriculture Bill Scott
