12/29/05 Woman of the Year, Johnson

Jean Johnson met her husband Frank in 1949. They were married the following year but skipped the honeymoon because it was June and time for the first cutting of hay. Jean and Frank raised three sons and she admits that she became. JOHNSON "A hard working farm wife. Oh well, its like 'honey come help and do this and do that.' Any farmer's wife knows what that is. I don't know that I did my share but I did a lot, a lot of the baling. Most of the baling I guess as I look back and the calf raising. Baby calves were all bottle fed until they were two months old." With three boys on the farm Jean became involved with FFA. JOHNSON "I was just so fascinated with the kids how they were progress in their mannerisms and actions from the first year in FFA until they were seniors. They were just very professional by the time they were seniors." Jean Johnson, Idaho Farm Bureau Woman of the Year. Voice of Idaho Agriculture Bill Scott
