The Idaho Farm Bureau Federation Women's Leadership Conference was held in Boise this past weekend. The theme for this years conference was: 'Grow with us'. On the International Day of the Woman, The Idaho Farm Bureau's Women's Leadership Committee met at the Red Lion Downtowner in Boise. Headling the event, Idaho's first Lieutenant Governor Janice McGeachen.

The Leadership Committee takes those opportunities to the heart. The organization is a long time donor to the Ronald McDonald house, sponsors their annual speech contest, and the snack bag legislative lunch program, longtime staples of the Farm Bureau. This conference takes the organization further, Woman's Chair Judy Woody. "We're learning grass root advocacy, using the camera phone as a tool we can use to get our issues heard. We're learning skills that not only benefit the Farm Bureau but agriculture."

Women leaders from the five districts toured and learned about Idaho's wine Country—all the while learning advocacy, The Farm Bureau's Melissa Nelson: "They're learning aspects of Agriculture they're unfamiliar with, they're learning communication skills, all during International Day of the Woman, it all fits perfectly to what we're doing."
