I have heard and received emails from so many people in the agricultural community about same-sex marriage. I'm not going to weigh in on it on a personal basis but I know I went on a rant not long ago saying that I wish there were something else that newspaper, radio and television reporters would concentrate on other than this one issue meaning that it seems like that's all we talk about anymore. Well, Here is some audio from Governor Otter from just a few days ago regarding the same-sex marriage case being argued at the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in San Francisco.

Governor Otter describes why he believes Idaho has a strong case to present to the three judge panel upholding marriage in Idaho as being between one and one woman. ""We think we have a good argument. We have an argument that represents the values that Idaho has and the culture of Idaho. And that is we believe in traditional marriage.  We have nothing against those folks that want to create a union, but we just believe in traditional marriage.  And we believe in it so deeply and were so concerned about some of the aspects that we saw going on around the United States, that in 2006 we actually held a referendum in the state of Idaho that passed well over 60 percent. The people amended the Idaho Constitution (article 3, section 28) to say that marriage in Idaho, LEGAL marriage in Idaho, is between one man and one woman. That is our argument. That is our culture. That is our values in Idaho."
