Smokeless Tobacco

If you spend anytime out west you’ll soon spot something in common between the rodeo crowd, farmers, ranchers and outdoormens ...It’s that little round can outlined in their pocket. What could that be?  I’m Susan Allen, stay tuned,  I’ll fill you in  how Phillip Morris is shaking  things up in the world of smokeless tobacco. Love it or hate it, it’s part the western culture.  Chris Ladue immortalized the stuff in his song, Copenhagen (Trust me it’s embarrassing to get that tune stuck in your head) chew less tobacco,  with  names as rugged as the wild  west; Grizzly, Kayak, Kodiak, Longhorn, Cougar, Red Man (that doesn’t sound politically correct) and Skoal. Despite the dangers of chewing tobacco science has proven  that non-combustible tobacco products are less harmful than cigarettes. The Wall Street Journal reported that tobacco giant Philip Morris will began to push smokeless tobacco, and is  urging the Food  and Drug Administration to adopt a regulatory plan that would encourage smokers who can’t quit switching to smokeless. American Council on Science and Heath stated  that the fact that both Reynolds and Philip Morris are moving towards non- combustible products is a beneficial trend for public health. Take it from a mother who spent a small on her sons teeth and whose  mini men have been known to dip. A “ beneficial” trend for their  health would be if Philip Morris pushed  Nicotine free chew. We know that won’t happen !  I’m Susan Allen
