Activists Halt Oregon Wolf Kill

There are a number of things you’ll never catch a rancher doing. Putting catsup on his steak, leaving a gate open and... crying  wolf. What doI mean, I’m Susan Allen this is OpenRange, stay tuned to find out. If you’re a rancher, you can’t cry wolf because quite simply... no one is listening. In WallowaCounty ranchers have continually reported to authorities calves that have been killed or maimed by wolves. Even after Fish and Wildlife specialists examined dead and wounded cattle they have often refused to “confirm; it as wolf kill.  Janie Tippet who writes regional newspaper  columns recently penned her frustration over the fact her family and  neighbors continue to lose calves in northeast Oregon yet no one seems to care. She noted an especially brutal kill on the Shear ranch recently where riders discovered a half eaten yet still alive calf. After six cattle were in killed WallowaCounty last spring, Oregon ordered a pair of wolves deemed responsible for the killing destroyed. State order was halted last week as environmental  groups filed a lawsuit to block the wolf kills. A spokesman for the Center of Biological Diversity said the small wolf back can’t sustain the kill. Well neither can the  ranchers or for that matter the momma cow bawling for her baby. It’s insane that activists tucked away in urban oasis’s think they can dictate what species lives or dies. Turn tables, suppose a pit bull kills “Arnie  activists” Goldendoodle in his own backyard and authorities told Arnie they know who did it but  arn't  allowed to take any action he  just keep an eye for out for the viscious dog, don't harm it just try to shoo it away oh and make sure to watch your kids and  future pets twenty-four seven.
