Round Up Ready wheat, why not range ready cattle? I’m Susan Allen for Open Range so stay tuned I’ll be back after the break.  The cattle market is cyclic and with it currenlty on an upswing  today’s producers (unlike those in earlier era’s that experienced  the same trending)  have a bevy of products and services to choose from that are designed to  help them enhance profit. My son and husband who attended the Cattlemen’s convention in Denver a few weeks ago reported that one common theme throughout the trade show was that as the price of beef goes up so does the value of the products that improve productivity.  A new service that caught my son’s Tommy’s eye because he is of that generation that gobbles up new technology, (unlike his mom who can be a bit intimidated of it) was Boehringer Ingelheim’s Range Ready feeder calves service. It appeared to both Allen men to be a great online tool that saves producers time and money...time is money? Anyway, its an easy way for producers to track a calves development starting at branding, pre-weaning or weaning. By sale time they simply print out an affidavit regarding each calves health plus  there’s even an  option for a veterinarian to certify it. For those of us who loose paperwork, it might prove easier to simply  allow potential buyers access to online records and not even worry about printing them. To learn more about this online service visit   www.rangeready.com . Pretty darn  hassle free.
