Thanking Your Employees

Thanking Your Employees

Now that spring is finally here across the region and hopefully the brunt of winter is behind us. Performix Nutrition Systems Animal Nutritional Consultant Dr. Boone Carter says ag producers should take some time to thank their employees for all of their hard work and dedication.

Carter: "The right person makes a bad situation work and a wrong person makes it so a situation will never work. Having good people in our operations is super important and when we have those people, we need to make sure that they know that they are appreciated and the work that they do is appreciated."

Often managers assume that as long as everything is going along okay, no feedback is necessary. Appreciation and thanks are very important to share with your employees and even family members. Carter continues

Carter: "When it comes time to say thank you to your employees, think about each employees' personality. Some employees would appreciate a pat on the back and a thank you more than $1,000 gift card. Some might appreciate a trip to Hawaii or a gift card to go out to dinner more than a actual cash bonus. Just think about the personality of your employee and try to reward them in the manner that would mean the most to them."
