**In addition to matters like renewable fuels and farm bill policy, members of the National Farmers Union are taking on one of the hottest legislative topics in health care.

About 320 members, taking part in the organization's annual fall fly-in this week, are tasked with getting commitments from staffers and lawmakers to "support bipartisan legislation that increases the number of family farmers and ranchers with access to affordable, quality health care."

National Farmers Union President Roger Johnson tells Agri-Pulse the decision to have healthcare among the organization's top-three issues was made at a July board meeting.

**Dairy Farmers of America has teamed up with Third Sun Solar to bring more solar energy systems to dairy farms.

The deal announced Tuesday gives DFA co-op members discounted equipment, plus access to Third Sun's project planning and development teams.
