**Students at Bluestone Elementary School in Harrisonburg, Virginia have tossed disposable milk cartons for good.

Hoping to reduce the amount of waste their non-recyclable milk cartons contribute, the school put the soda fountain-style milk machine in their cafeteria.

According to agweb.com, the idea came after a study found nearly 39,000 cartons per year were thrown out at Bluestone alone, and students were only drinking about 70% of the milk.

The new dispenser allows students to decide just how much milk they want in reusable cups.

**New government data shows U.S. ethanol exports reached a new record in 2018.

According to the Renewable Fuels Association, an astonishing 1.7 billion gallons of ethanol was shipped to more than 80 countries.

The 2018 export total topped the previous export record, set in 2017, by 25%, with nearly 11% of the total U.S. ethanol production being exported.

Brazil, Canada and India were the leading destination for U.S. ethanol exports.

The record VALUE of U.S. ethanol exports was $2.7 billion, up 14%.

**In an effort to protect our nation's swine industry, the USDA is taking additional steps to keep African swine fever from entering the U.S., strengthening protections after the deadly swine disease reached China.

Among the steps is training 60 additional beagle teams for a total of 179 working key commercial, sea, and air ports.

ASF is not a food safety issue and does not affect people.
