At AgriBeef they go to great lengths in making sure the cattle in their grow yards and feedlots are taken care of and kept healthy to help insure a delicious beef product to consumers worldwide.

Logan Peters is a cattle procurement representative for AgriBeef and says certain times of the year are a little more challenging than others.

"So, we've had a very fortunate open winter with not much snow cover where our feed yards are located but we have seen a lot of mud" said Peters. "What we do to help mitigate some of the mud is provide adequate bedding for those cattle to get out of the muck and have somewhere clean and dry to lay down on. And we use those summer months to help build mounds to allow the cattle to climb up to maybe to higher ground which also promotes drainage moisture out of the yards. We're doing this all for the cattle health and in the environment that the cattle are able to live in."

He says this past winter did present some unique challenges.

"You know this last winter we have seen challenges with some foot rot just because of the constant freezing and thawing and the weather that has been present in the northwest" said Peters.
