One way to entertain yourself, if you are in a tiny rural Idaho Town.

In Council, Idaho…population around 800, there is one event you probably will not find anywhere else. It has been dubbed the world Championship porcupine race. In order to have such a race, you have to have competitors which means you must first catch porcupines. My question was, how do you catch a porcupine? “Carefully. Okay. How do you race them? Carefully. Just push them along with a broom.” Old timers don't seem to have much to say about the event so we found last year’s winner, Taylor Course and ask him about his Secret. “there is no secret. Just let it go and where ever it goes, it goes.” How did Taylor catch his porcupine? “Spotlights in the middle of the night out in a hayfield.” As raise time approaches, the critters are auctioned off to the highest bidder. The money is split between the Chamber of Commerce and the top three finishers in the race.
