University of Idaho students got a second-place finish in a national simulated trading contest. Students from theThe College of Busines & Economics along with students from the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences worked with College of Busines & Economics professor Dr. Terry Grieb and he was amazed at the synergy. "We were just so pleased with how these students performed. The credit really goes to them. They did an amazing job. One of the things we are hoping we can piggyback on that result is to tell the story about how the collaboration between the College of Agriculture and College of Busines & Economics… It's turning on the lights. Everybody brings something to the table, students and faculty alike. We have students from Agriculture that are getting a broad range of jobs because of this. We have students in the College of Business that are taking jobs in agricultural risk management. We have placed students with Nestlé has commodity risk managers and with commodity risk brokerage firms in Chicago. What both colleges bring to the table is benefiting everybody in a tremendous way.

So having heard that story, if you are in a position to do so, you might relate this story to a university in your local area. Good communication leads to great results.
