Wheat Market Loses Friday's Gains

I’m KayDee Gilkey with the Market Line Report for August 19, 2014.
Wheat markets were down across the board on Monday. From the floor of the CME Group, Alexandra Lively shares her observations of Monday’s markets.
Lively: “Weather remains non-threatening in most parts of the U.S. Wheat - the market is giving back the 20 cent gain seen Friday after the news of Ukraine destroying a Russian convey was announced. Concern over trade disruption has eased even with even with reports of Ukraine military that many people lost their lives when rockets hit a convey carrying refugees out of a rebel-held city. Most analysts say that even though countries tend to store wheat in times of instability the ample world supplies this year have made the market less sensitive to geopolitical risk.”
Chicago September Wheat ended Monday down 8 and 3/4 cents at 5-42 and 1/2. September corn ended the day down a nickel at 3-60 and 3/4.
Portland prices for soft white wheat were down 7 and 1/2 to 8 and 3/4 cents at mostly 6-81. White club wheat prices were down 8 and 3/4 cents at mostly 7-76 and 3/4. Hard Red Winter wheat with 11.5 percent protein prices were down 2 cents at mostly 7-13 and 3/4. DNS wheat with 14 percent protein prices were down 3 and 3/4 cents at mostly 7-64 and 1/4.
October live cattle were up 80 cents on Monday at 148-55. September Feeder cattle were up 97 and half cents at 216-07 and half. September class III milk was down 21 cents at 22-43.
