Globally Just Too Much Wheat

USDA Grain and Market Reporter Greg Sanders shares last week’s cattle markets for the region.
Sanders: “Northwest direct cattle we had a little over 3,350 head this week. Compared to last week, feeder cattle were steady to firm. Trade slow to moderate with good demand as feed prices continued to go lower. Feeder steers medium-large frame 1s and 2s calves for 600 to 650 pounds for October to November delivery sold for $249. 900 to 950 pound steers for current delivery into Idaho sold for $209.50 to $214 delivered. Feeder heifers medium-large frames 1s and 2s 850 to 900 pounds current delivery into Idaho $204 to $207.”
Chicago December Wheat ended Friday down 14 cents at 4-74 and 1/2. December corn ended the day down 6 and 3/4 cents at 3-31 and 1/2.
Portland prices for soft white wheat were steady to down 14 cents at mostly 6-61. White club wheat prices were down 14 cents at mostly 8-92 and 1/4. Hard Red Winter wheat with 11.5 percent protein prices were down 9 and 1/2 cents at mostly 6-87 and 1/4. DNS wheat with 14 percent protein prices were down 14 and 3/4 cents at mostly 8-13 and 1/2.
October live cattle were up 2 and half cents on Friday at 155-62 and half. October Feeder cattle were up $1.02 and half at 228-72 and half. October class III milk was down 6 cents at 24-70.
