Wheat Markets Mostly Lower on Monday

I’m KayDee Gilkey with the Market Line Report for September 23, 2014.
Chicago December wheat future held the only higher contract on Monday among the three wheat futures markets. From the floor of the CME Group, Greg Wagner shares his observations of Monday’s market.
Wagner: “Grain trade here at the CME Group for Monday— corn coming under pressure but coming off its lows and then the wheat market closing a couple of cents higher. Corn down about a penny and half roughly while December wheat closed higher here in Chicago. Kansas City was unchanged and of course then you had Minneapolis with small gains. I think right now we are in the teeth of harvest or we are getting there — and harvest moves north — and we are getting consistent reports of good yields.”
Chicago December Wheat ended Monday up 2 and 1/4 cents at 4-76 and 3/4. December corn ended the day down 1 and 1/4 cents at 3-30 and 1/4.
Portland prices for soft white wheat were steady to up 2 and 1/4 cents at mostly 6-66 and 1/2. White club wheat prices were up 2 and 1/4 to 12 and 1/4 cents at mostly 8-97 and 1/2. Hard Red Winter wheat with 11.5 percent protein prices were up a nickel to a dime at mostly 6-93 and 1/4. DNS wheat with 14 percent protein prices were up 1 and 1/4 cents at mostly 8-04 and 3/4.
October live cattle were down 12 and half cents on Monday at 155-50. October Feeder cattle were up 55 cents at 229-27 and half. October class III milk was down 8 cents at 24-62.
