Quiet Close in Grain Markets on Friday

I’m KayDee Gilkey with the Market Line Report for January 19, 2015.
It was a rather quiet close on Friday in the grains market. USDA Grain and Livestock Reporter Greg Sanders gives us a cattle market update.
Sanders: “Compared to last Friday, stocker and feeder cattle were steady to firm in a light test. Trade remains slow with light to moderate demand. Buyers are cautiously watching the futures markets with the CME expanding the trade limits on live cattle contracts to $4.50 and the feeder cattle contracts to $6.75. Also the slaughter cattle market finished the week $165 live. Feeder steers medium-large frames number ones and twos current delivered price 800 to 850 pounds $208 to $225.50 delivered into Idaho.”
Chicago March Wheat ended Friday unchanged at 5-32 and 3/4. March corn ended the day up 7 cents at 3-87.
Portland prices for soft white wheat of ordinary protein were steady at mostly 6-35 and 3/4. White club wheat of ordinary protein prices were steady to down 50 cents at mostly 8-77 and 3/4. Hard Red Winter wheat with 11.5 percent protein prices up 4 cents at mostly 6-72. DNS wheat with 14 percent protein prices were up 3 and 1/2 cents at mostly 8-29 and 1/2.
February live cattle were up 25 cents on Friday at 154-45. March Feeder cattle were down 75 cents at 204-85. February class III milk was down a nickel at 14-43.
