I’m KayDee Gilkey with the Market Line Report for April 27, 2015.
Friday’s price move lower across the board in grains — wiped out the week’s earlier market gains. USDA Grain and Livestock Market Reporter Greg Sanders gives an update on the region’s cattle market.
Sanders: “Feeder cattle this week had 3,350 head traded compared to last Friday. Feeder cattle were steady to four lower. Trade was slow this week as most Northwest current and feedlots are at capacity levels. More activity was noted for calf contracts for fall delivery. Feeder steers medium to large frame #1s and #2s for current FOB 850 to 900 pounds $195 to $202 in Oregon and Idaho. Calves for future delivery FOB price to 650 to 700 pounds $228 to $240 for October through December in Washington, Idaho and Oregon.”
