Friday's Wheat Markets End Mixed

I’m KayDee Gilkey with the Market Line Report for May 4, 2015.
Corn and soybeans saw pressure from rapid planting pace as the weather was been favorable all week and continued through the weekend. USDA Grain and Livestock Reporter Greg Sanders gives an update on last week’s cattle market in the region.
Sanders: “This week we had 2,450 head of feeder cattle reported. Compared to last Friday feeder cattle were weak to $4 lower. Trade remains slow this week as video and auction sales in California are keeping Northwest buyers very busy. Demand remains good. Steers medium to large frame #1s and #2s current FOB 650 to 700 pounds $235 in Washington current delivery prices 850 to 900 pounds $188 to $196 delivered into Idaho. Feeder steers large frame #2s and #3s current FOB 650 pounds $189 in Washington.”
Chicago July Wheat ended Friday unchanged at 4-74. July corn ended the day down 3 and 1/4 cents at 3-63.
Portland prices for soft white wheat and white club wheat of ordinary protein were steady at mostly 5-91. Hard Red Winter wheat with 11.5 percent protein prices were up 1 to 3 cents at mostly 5-94 and 1/4. DNS wheat with 14 percent protein prices were down 3 cents at mostly 7-35 and 1/4.
June live cattle were down 52 and half cents on Friday at 149.17 and half. August Feeder cattle were up 37 and half cents at 215.07 and half. June class III milk was up 11 cents at 16-45.
